Niger : Le bilan de l’attaque contre l’armée s’alourdit à 15 morts

The record of the attack on a position of the Nigerian army near Tilwa, a few kilometers from the Malian border, on February 22, was revised upwards.

According to the official report issued by the Ministry of Defense, 15 soldiers were killed and 19 others injured.

“Mop-up operations have been undertaken in the area to neutralize terrorists on the run,” the army spokesman added.

The region of Tillabéry, located in the southwest of Niger, faces insecurity in recent months. Five soldiers of the National Guard were killed in November 2016. A month earlier, the civil prison of Koutoukale was the target of an attack.
